Sudan's 15th Hijri Century commemorative program in 1979 produced essais in multiple metals — this copper example sits alongside silver and gold trial strikes documented under the KM#E11/E16 references. Essais of this type were not produced for circulation but submitted to the issuing authority for approval, making survival dependent entirely on institutional handling rather than collector rescue from commerce. The Bank of Sudan's output of pattern and essai material from this period is genuinely sparse in auction records.
