| Obverse description | Central field depicts the Sudanese state emblem, a secretary bird with wings displayed, bearing a shield on its breast and clutching a scroll inscribed with the country name in Arabic; the emblem is enclosed by a wreath. The denomination appears bilaterally flanking the emblem: Arabic numeral and legend '١٠ جنيهات' to the left and Latin '10 LS.' to the right. The upper field carries the Arabic legend 'جمهورية السودان الديمقراطية' and 'النصر لنا' in a curved arrangement, while the lower field bears 'SUDAN' and 'ISLAMIC WORLD, 15 TH CENTURY' in Latin characters along the inner border, accompanied by the dual dating '١٤٠٠' (AH) and '١٩٧٩' (AD). The entire design is framed by a continuous beaded border. |

| Reverse description | The central design features a stylized tree rising from an ornate crescent-shaped base with floral arabesque ornamentation, its two uppermost branches terminating in circular cartouches bearing the Arabic names 'الله' (God) and 'محمد' (Muhammad) in high relief. Behind the tree, a panoramic cityscape depicts a domed mosque with minarets to the left and a fortified tower structure to the right, evoking the holy cities of Islam. The Arabic legend 'القرن الخامس عشر الهجري' (The Fifteenth Hijri Century) is inscribed at the top of the field in a curved arrangement. The composition commemorates the advent of the 15th century of the Islamic Hijri calendar and is enclosed by a beaded border. |
