| Obverse description | Central device depicts the Sudanese state emblem, a secretary bird with wings displayed above a shield, flanked by two scrolls. The denomination is inscribed in both Arabic (١٠ جنيهات) to the left and numeral (10 L.S.) to the right of the central device. Surrounding the emblem, the Arabic legend القرن الخامس عشر الهجري curves across the upper field. Along the lower rim, the Latin legends SUDAN and ISLAMIC WORLD 15TH CENTURY are inscribed, flanked by the Hijri year ١٤٠٠ and the Gregorian year ١٩٧٩ in Eastern Arabic numerals. |
