The "Seal type 5" designation marks a BSP administrative change — the bank's official seal was revised multiple times across the 1980s and 1990s, and the progression from type to type on the 10 Piso series is one of the more reliable dating tools for this otherwise visually stable issue. The Security Plant Complex in Quezon City had been printing Philippine currency in-house since 1978, making this among the relatively few notes of its period produced entirely within the issuing country's own facilities rather than contracted abroad to De La Rue or another major security printer.
