| 备注 |
Egypt's wartime currency arrangements left the government printing small denominations in-house rather than relying on overseas contractors, whose capacity was tied up elsewhere. The Survey of Egypt — a cartographic and technical agency — had been producing currency since the early 1920s, a somewhat unusual mandate for a mapping authority that nevertheless made practical sense given its existing intaglio infrastructure.
Notes of this series are prone to heavy soiling at the folds; they circulated hard through a period of significant political pressure, ending only with the Free Officers' coup of July 1952 that forced Farouk's abdication.
