| 表面の説明 | Letterpress-printed note on cream paper with an all-over dark green honeycomb guilloche underprint covering the entire field. At upper right, the denomination '10 Zehn Pfennig' is set in large blackletter (Fraktur) gothic type. To the left, a rectangular white panel edged by a thin border contains an affixed orange 10-Pfennig postage stamp serving as the embedded security medium, with the legend 'Inliegend 10 Pfg.-Marke' printed below it in bold gothic lettering. A central text panel states the validity condition and issuer details, with 'Rückseite beachten' and 'Gesetzlich geschützt' noted at the lower margin. |

| 裏面の説明 | Plain cream paper with a single thin rectangular border frame and entirely typeset letterpress text, without vignette or guilloche. The slogan 'IN TREUE FEST!' arches in bold capitals across the top, followed by a patriotic appeal urging readers to support the forthcoming Upper Silesia plebiscite and to send donations to the regional collection office. The printer's imprint 'Pansa'sche Buchdruckerei, Magdeburg' appears in small type at the foot of the note. |

Hans Gaertner was a Magdeburg merchant or business proprietor who issued this note during the height of the small-denomination Notgeld wave, when the German Reichsbank's coin shortage left retailers no practical alternative but to print their own change. The Pansa'sche Buchdruckerei was a local Magdeburg press, making this an entirely regional production — printed, issued, and presumably spent within a few city blocks.
The embedded postage stamp as a security feature is the detail worth noting. By incorporating an actual stamp into the note's construction, Gaertner tied its value to a state-backed instrument while simultaneously making counterfeiting impractical for anyone without access to genuine postal material.
