| 正面铭文 | Magistrat der Kreisstadt Sorau N.-L. 10 Pfennige Sorau N.-L. Kriegsjahr 1918 DER MAGISTRAT |
| 背面描述 | Green letterpress reverse on cream paper, surrounded by a matching guilloche and dotted border with the numeral '10' in each corner. The municipal arms of Sorau — a quartered shield with stags, antlers, and a wolf — are set within an ornate cartouche at the top centre. The denomination 'Zehn Pfennige' is printed in large Gothic script across the middle field, below which a three-line redemption clause states that the voucher is redeemable at all municipal cashiers at full value until 31 December 1920. A serial number in red and the series designation 'Serie VIII' are printed at the foot. |

| 备注 |
Sorau (now Żary, in present-day Poland) issued this Notgeld piece in 1918 as the wartime metal shortage made small-denomination coinage effectively unavailable across Germany. Municipal authorities — not the Reichsbank — were left to fill the gap, and hundreds of German towns printed their own emergency pfennig notes that year under the same pressures.
The "N.-L." designation in the issuer name stands for Niederlausitz, distinguishing this Sorau from other same-named localities.
