正面描述 Yellow-ground note printed in green, black, and multicolour, with a decorative Art Nouveau border of interlaced foliate ornaments. At centre, the polychrome municipal coat of arms of Wettin an der Saale — a red brick gateway with three towers on a blue field, surmounted by the motto ribbon 'V.D.M. 1.Æ' and a scrolled banner inscribed 'Wettin a.d. Saale' — flanked by oak-leaf sprays and the bold denomination numeral '10' in each upper corner. The lower panel carries the place and date of issue on the left and the authorising legend 'Der Magistrat' with the Bürgermeister's facsimile signature on the right.

备注

Wettin an der Saale is a small town in Saxony-Anhalt, historically significant as the ancestral seat of the House of Wettin — the dynasty that produced the ruling families of Saxony, Belgium, Bulgaria, Portugal, and eventually the British royal house through Queen Victoria's consort. Whether that dynastic connection crossed the mind of anyone at the Magistrat when authorizing this 1921 notgeld issue is doubtful. The note is purely functional: local currency printed to address the chronic small-coin shortage that plagued German municipalities throughout the inflationary spiral of the early Weimar period.

Thousands of German towns issued comparable denominations in 1921. What redeems this one from complete obscurity is its issuing address.
