| Obverse description | Central field displays the arms of Zwiesel: a heraldic shield bearing a standing armored knight in full plate armor, holding a banner or staff in his right hand and a shield bearing an eagle device at his left side. The shield is surmounted by a decorative scroll cartouche. The legend STADT to the left and ZWIESEL to the right arc vertically along the inner border, separated from the rim by a continuous border of raised beads encircling the entire octagonal flan. The date 1917 appears in the lower field beneath the shield. |
