| Obverse description | Central field occupied by the municipal arms of Zeitz: a pointed heraldic shield depicting the Archangel Michael in armour, wings spread, wielding a sword raised above his head with his right hand and carrying a shield in his left, standing triumphant over a serpent at the base of the shield. The legend STADT ZEITZ curves around the periphery, flanked by a six-pointed star at the base. The design is rendered in bold relief characteristic of German Notgeld coinage of the early Weimar period. |
