Obverse description Spread Imperial German eagle displayed facing, with wings raised and feathers finely detailed, the head turned to the right. The breast bears a small heraldic shield, and the eagle is surmounted by an Imperial crown. Elaborate foliate and scroll mantling adorns the base of the design. The entire motif is contained within a raised rope border encircling the field.
