Obverse description The obverse is enclosed by an outer pearl border running along the rim. A circular inner pearl border frames the central field, within which the denomination '10 PFENNIG' is displayed in two lines in raised lettering. The surrounding annular legend reads 'MAGISTRAT DER STADT SOLDIN N/M.' and the date '1917' appears in the lower portion of the legend, flanked by small star ornaments. The overall design is plain and utilitarian, typical of German World War I notgeld coinage.
