Obverse description The municipal coat of arms of Siegen occupies the central field, depicted as a quartered shield featuring a lion passant in the lower section and architectural elements above, surmounted by a seated figure flanked by heraldic supporters. The legend STADT SIEGEN is inscribed in large raised letters along the lower right periphery, reading upward on both sides of the shield. The design is presented in a flat, incuse relief style characteristic of German notgeld coinage of the First World War period.
