The entire design is bounded by a beaded inner border running the full circumference of the coin. |

The word NOTGELD arcs across the upper portion of the coin within the beaded border, while PFENNIG arcs along the lower portion, together completing the denomination and emergency-currency designation. Two six-pointed stars flank the legend at the left and right. The design is austere and functional in keeping with wartime Notgeld production, enclosed within a continuous beaded border. |
