Obverse description The city coat of arms of Posen occupies the central field, depicting a fortified gate with three merloned towers above a crenellated wall, flanked by two smaller towers; within the gate arch, a shield bears the crossed keys emblem of the city. The arms are enclosed within an inner pearl circle. The curved legend reading RESIDENZSTADT POSEN runs along the lower portion of the coin, flanked by a six-pointed star on each side, all within an outer pearl border.

Reverse description The large numeral 10 is prominently displayed in the center of the field, enclosed by a slim wreath of laurel branches tied at the base with a small decorative ornament. The legend GELDERSATZMARKE curves around the upper portion of the wreath, and the date 1917 appears below the wreath in the lower field, all contained within an inner pearl circle and an outer pearl border.
