| Obverse description | Plain octagonal zinc flan with a dotted border running along the full periphery of the coin. A rope-style inner circle encloses the large numeral '10' in the central field, denoting the denomination. The circular legend surrounding the inner border reads 'J. MAYER & SOHN' at the top and 'OFFENBACH A/M.' at the bottom, separated by five-pointed star stops, identifying the issuing firm and its location. The overall design is utilitarian and unadorned, consistent with the emergency coinage (Notgeld) typology of the World War I era. |
