Obverse description The octagonal zinc token features a continuous pearl border running along the inner edge of all eight sides, enclosing a raised pearl circle. Within this circle, the large numeral '10' occupies the central field as the denomination indicator. A circular legend reading 'C.C. VALENTIEN' arcs across the upper portion and 'NORDERNEY' across the lower portion of the annular band between the pearl border and inner circle, separated by small rosette or floral ornaments. The overall design is plain and utilitarian, consistent with emergency small-change token production of the World War I era.
