| Aanvullende informatie |
Gruschwitz Textilwerke AG was one of Silesia's larger linen and textile manufacturers, headquartered in Neusalz an der Oder — now Nowa Sól in western Poland. This token belongs to the wave of privately issued Notgeld that flooded Germany during the early 1920s, when coin shortages forced individual employers to mint their own small-denomination scrip redeemable at company facilities. Brass-plated zinc was the workhorse material of this necessity coinage, cheap enough to produce in quantity and durable enough to survive a few dozen transactions between a worker's pocket and the factory canteen.
