Obverse description Central field depicts a detailed view of the Mosbach town hall (Rathaus), rendered in low relief with its distinctive stepped gable facade and prominent square tower surmounted by a domed cupola. A secondary adjacent building with a pitched roof is visible to the right. The design is enclosed by a circular legend in Latin script reading 'IM MOSBACHER RATHAUS GEHT STÄNDIG D. DRAHT AUS', separated by bullet stops, running along the inner edge of a beaded border. The whimsical legend translates roughly as 'In the Mosbach town hall the wire is constantly running out', a humorous allusion to the coin shortage that prompted issuance of this notgeld piece.
