10 Pfennig Lößnitz im Erzgebirge, Consum-Verein Vorwärts

Lößnitz, a small mining and textile town in the Ore Mountains, produced a substantial range of Notgeld during the 1921 inflation period, much of it through local consumer cooperatives rather than municipal authorities. The Consum-Verein Vorwärts — "Forward Consumer Association" — was a working-class cooperative issuing scrip redeemable at member stores, a common workaround when small-denomination Reichsmark coinage had effectively vanished from everyday transactions due to hoarding and metal shortages.

The near-square format is a function of cardboard stock constraints, not a design choice.
