| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse features the heraldic coat of arms of the Kreis Lippstadt at center, depicting a quartered shield supported by two rampant lions as supporters, surmounted by a crown and flanked by additional heraldic devices. The arms are rendered in fine relief against a flat field. A circular Latin legend surrounds the central device, and the entire design is bounded by a prominent pearl (beaded) border. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Lippstadt's 1920 notgeld coinage was struck in iron out of pure necessity — the postwar Weimar government's inability to supply adequate small change to municipalities forced hundreds of German towns to issue their own emergency currency. Lippstadt, a mid-sized Westphalian market town, was among the wave of district issuers that filled the vacuum in 1919–1920 before centralized coinage production stabilized.
Iron was the fallback material of the period, cheap and available but prone to rust, which accounts for the difficulty in finding uncorroded survivors today.
