Beschrijving voorzijde The obverse features the large numeral '10' prominently displayed in the central field, surrounded by an inner ring of raised dots. The circular legend reads 'MAX. JAHN' across the upper portion and 'LEUTZSCH' along the lower portion, with two six-pointed stars serving as separators. An outer beaded border runs along the full circumference of the coin, framing the design in a simple yet functional typographic style characteristic of German Notgeld emergency coinage.

Aanvullende informatie

Leutzsch was an independent municipality west of Leipzig until its incorporation into the city in 1922. Local Pfennig tokens of this type were issued by private merchants and businesses during the acute small-change shortages that plagued Germany in the early Weimar period — federal coinage simply could not keep pace with demand. Max. Jahn's zinc piece is a straightforward redemption token, good only at the issuing establishment, with no legal tender status beyond that counter.
