| Obverse description | Central field bears the municipal coat of arms of Heiligenhafen, depicting a heraldic shield divided horizontally: the upper portion features a plain field, while the lower portion displays a stylised town gate or crenellated wall with towers, above which two crossed anchors surmounted by a small eagle or bird device are shown. The shield is set within a plain inner circle bordered by a fine beaded ring.
