| 表面の説明 | The octagonal field is framed by a raised pearl border running along all eight sides. An inner pearl circle separates the annular legend from the central field, within which the large numeral '10' is prominently struck in bold relief. Greppiner Werke was a chemical manufacturing operation in Greppin, a small industrial settlement near Bitterfeld in Saxony-Anhalt. Like many German industrial firms during the acute coin shortages of World War I, it issued its own zinc notgeld to pay workers when Reichsbank coinage had effectively vanished from circulation — hoarded, melted, or requisitioned. These factory tokens rarely traveled far; they were redeemable only at the company store or canteen, which kept them in tight local circulation and explains why survivors tend to appear in better condition than municipal issues of the same period.
