| Obverse description | The municipal arms of Ettenheim occupy the central field, depicting a crenellated gateway surmounted by three towers, the central tower bearing a crown, all rendered in low relief above a divided heraldic shield. The armorial device is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, itself surrounded by an outer beaded border that frames the entire design. The circular legend reads STADTGEMEINDE around the upper arc, separated by floral ornaments, with ETTENHEIM continuing along the lower arc, in raised Latin capitals. The overall design is characteristic of German notgeld municipal issues of the early Weimar period, utilitarian in execution but faithful to the town's heraldic tradition. |
