| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse features the large numeral '10' prominently raised in the central field, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The circular legend reads 'HESSEN-NASSAUISCHER' along the upper periphery and 'HÜTTENVEREIN' along the lower periphery, separated by small decorative flower ornaments. The outer border is defined by a continuous ring of raised dots. The overall design is typographic in character, typical of German World War I industrial Notgeld issues. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Issued by the Hessen-Nassauischer Hüttenverein ironworks at Eibelshausen during the acute metal shortages of 1917, this is Notgeld in its most functional form — a private industrial firm substituting for the state because the state had melted its own coinage for war materiel. Zinc was chosen precisely because copper and nickel had been redirected to shell casings and armaments.
The Eibelshausen works issued these tokens for use among their own workforce, effectively creating a closed monetary circuit around the factory.
