| 正面描述 | Within a plain raised rim, the large numeral '10' occupies the central field in bold raised relief. The circular legend 'STADT DONAUESCHINGEN' arcs around the upper periphery, with a small lozenge ornament separating the end of the inscription. The design is austere and utilitarian, consistent with wartime Notgeld production. |

Donaueschingen issued this iron notgeld piece in 1918 as the German war economy stripped conventional coinage metals from circulation entirely. The city sits at the claimed source of the Danube — a geographic distinction the municipal authorities were not shy about exploiting on local emergency issues. Iron was the material of last resort by this point; nickel had disappeared years earlier, and zinc was increasingly reserved for war production.
