| 背面描述 | The reverse presents the denomination in a bold, horizontally-lined numeral 10 prominently centered in the field, flanked by two six-pointed star ornaments on either side. The word NOTGELD appears in curved Gothic script along the upper arc, while PFENNIG is inscribed in matching Gothic lettering along the lower arc, together framing the large numeral and clearly identifying this piece as emergency coinage. |

Cottbus issued this iron notgeld piece in 1921 as postwar metal shortages and rampant inflation continued to disrupt the supply of Reichsbank coinage. Municipal and private issuers across Germany filled the gap with locally produced emergency money, and iron — already familiar from wartime Kriegsmünzen — was a practical choice when copper and nickel remained scarce. The Funck catalogue distinguishes at least two die varieties for this type, of which this is the second.
