| 背面描述 | A beaded border encircles the entire design. The circular legend KRIEGSNOTGELD (war emergency money) runs along the upper periphery in bold raised letters. The large numeral '10', denoting the denomination in Pfennig, dominates the central field. The date 1917 is inscribed along the lower arc, flanked on each side by a small six-pointed star ornament serving as a separator. |

Burg auf Fehmarn issued this zinc notgeld piece in 1917 under the acute metal shortages that forced hundreds of German municipalities to produce their own emergency coinage. Fehmarn island's isolation in the Baltic made supply disruptions especially sharp — the ferry link to the mainland was unreliable, and small-denomination coinage simply dried up. Municipal zinc pieces from this period were legal only within the issuing locality, creating a fragmented currency patchwork across wartime Germany.
The Funck 66.2 reference distinguishes this from at least one other die variety in the Burg series.
