Bublitz, a small Pomeranian town (today Bobolice, Poland), issued notgeld like this during the post-WWI coin shortage that left German municipalities scrambling to produce their own small-denomination pieces between roughly 1916 and 1922. Zinc was the pragmatic choice — copper and nickel had been systematically requisitioned for the war effort, leaving towns with little else to work with.
The Funck reference places this firmly in the catalogued municipal issues, though Bublitz produced no great variety of types.
