| Obverse description | The octagonal iron flan bears at center the civic arms of Bad Mergentheim: a quartered shield depicting a prominent cross charged with an eagle in the central pale, flanked by six-pointed stars in the upper quarters and stylized rosettes in the lower quarters. The shield is enclosed within a raised beaded inner circle. The circumferential legend, reading upward on the left and downward on the right, is separated into two arcs by a six-pointed star on each side, with STADTGEMEINDE arcing across the upper field and BAD MERGENTHEIM across the lower field. |
