Three lines of raised Latin lettering fill the central field: 'KÖNIGL.BAD' in the upper portion, 'BERTRICH' in the centre, and the date '1917' in the lower portion. The design is purely typographic with no pictorial device, rendered in a bold serif typeface characteristic of German notgeld issues of the First World War period. |
