| Reverse description | Entirely plain field displaying the large bold numeral '10' centrally positioned, denoting the denomination of ten Pfennig. No additional legend, symbol, or ornament appears in the field. The design is bordered by a continuous ring of raised beads immediately inside the rim, consistent with the utilitarian aesthetic of German wartime Notgeld issues. |

| Additional information |
Ahrweiler notgeld of this type was issued by the merchant N. Mies during the acute coin shortage of 1918, when the German imperial government's wartime requisitioning of copper and nickel had stripped circulation of nearly all small denomination coinage. Local businesses across the Rhineland filled the gap with privately issued iron and zinc pieces, redeemable only at the issuing firm — a fragile guarantee that became meaningless for many holders as the war collapsed months later.
