Комментарии	Goldberg is a small market town in Mecklenburg with a population that barely exceeded a few thousand even in the early twentieth century — which makes its issuance of notgeld a reminder of just how granular Germany's emergency currency proliferation became after 1914. Thousands of municipalities, no matter how minor, printed their own small-denomination notes when coin shortages made everyday transactions impossible. The DeNG reference places this within the first series of Goldberg notgeld. Paper notgeld at this denomination was typically short-lived in circulation, often redeemed or simply discarded once the immediate coin shortage eased.
