正面描述 Orange and cream Notgeld printed by letterpress, with the denomination '10' at upper left and 'Pf.' at upper right in bold Gothic type. At centre, a circular municipal seal vignette encloses a standing armoured knight holding a sword and a spear, with the legend 'STADT WANFRIED SIEGEL DER' around the perimeter and the date '1608' flanking the figure. The lower panel carries the issuer's name in large decorative Fraktur script, framed by ornamental orange scroll borders.

备注

Wanfried is a small town on the Werra River in Hesse, and like hundreds of German municipalities during the Kleingeldnot of 1917–1921, it issued its own emergency small-change notes when coins all but vanished from circulation. These Notgeld issues were printed locally — P. Israel operated as a printer within the town itself, which is unusually direct for a series of this type; most comparable municipalities contracted out to larger printers in Kassel or Frankfurt.

The Stadt Wanfried issues are minor items in Notgeld collecting, notable mainly for their purely functional origin rather than any decorative ambition.
