| Obverse description | Olive-green and brown Notgeld note with a decorative border of repeating cross-and-oval motifs enclosing a floral wreath vignette in oval form, at the centre of which sits a beehive surrounded by bees in flight. The denomination '10' appears in large numerals to either side of the central vignette, with wheat sheaves below and the issuer name 'GIFHORN' in bold lettering beneath the oval. A multi-line redemption text in German Gothic script occupies the lower portion, signed by the Bürgermeister and dated 'Gifhorn, 1. Juni 1921', with the printer's imprint 'Druckerei Appelhans, Braunschweig' at the foot. |
