Bleicherode is a small Thuringian mining town, and like hundreds of German municipalities in 1921, it issued its own emergency currency — Notgeld — to address the chronic small-denomination coin shortage that had persisted since the war. Carl Flemming & T. C. Wiskott in Glogau were among the more prolific Notgeld printers of the period, handling commissions from municipal clients across central Germany.
The DeNG reference suffix distinction (1/2#0119.1-1/3) suggests multiple type variants exist within this issue — collectors should verify serial placement and reverse text carefully before attributing.
