| Beschrijving voorzijde | Printed entirely in red-orange on cream paper, the note is framed by a bold zigzag border with lightning-bolt corner motifs. The denomination '10' appears in large guilloché-style numerals at left and right, flanking a central cartouche in which the value '10 Pf.' is rendered in elaborate Kurrent script above the word 'oder' (or). The issuer inscription 'Waldenburg' runs along the top and 'Ein Notgroschen' along the bottom, both in matching cursive lettering. |

Waldenburg's 1921 Notgeld issue belongs to the politically charged months following the Upper Silesian plebiscite of March 1921, in which the region voted to remain German. The subsequent League of Nations partition decision that October — splitting the industrial zone against German expectations — produced real economic anxiety, and small-denomination emergency paper flooded the region as metal coinage disappeared from circulation entirely.
Waldenburg itself sat at the heart of Lower Silesian coal country. The city would remain German until 1945, when it became Wałbrzych.
