Stützerbach is a small glassmaking village in the Thuringian Forest, and its 1921 Notgeld issues lean heavily into that local industrial identity. Max Bechstein — a regional designer associated with several Thuringian municipal Notgeld commissions — produced artwork for this series that was considerably more accomplished than the average Kleingeldschein of the period.
The print date of 30 April 1945 is almost certainly a catalog or documentation error; this note belongs to the 1921 Notgeld wave that followed the postwar small-change shortage, not the final day of the Third Reich.
