正面描述 Brown letterpress Notgeld note with an ornate scrollwork and floral border enclosing a central oval vignette containing a standing figure in period costume beside a stone monument or column, executed in a fine hatched engraving style. The oval frame carries a commemorative motto inscription, with the date '18 Oktober 1813' referencing the Battle of Leipzig, flanked by Fraktur script text stating the validity conditions and the issuing authority 'Der Magistrat'. Denomination numeral '10' appears in circular cartouches at each corner, and a green typeset serial number is printed at the lower centre.

备注

Freienwalde in Pommern — not to be confused with Bad Freienwalde in Brandenburg — issued this Notgeld piece during the acute small-change shortage that followed Germany's postwar economic dislocation. Municipal and local authorities across thousands of German towns printed their own emergency notes between 1914 and 1923 precisely because coins had vanished from circulation, hoarded or melted.

The A. Koch designer credit is worth noting: local Pomeranian Notgeld was frequently commissioned from regional commercial artists rather than established security printers, which accounts for the wide variation in quality across issues from this district.
