Obverse description Light blue guilloche underprint covers the central field, enclosed within a heavy ornamental black letterpress border with the numeral "10" in each corner. To the left, a heraldic vignette in a shield cartouche shows a wooded hilltop with a tower amid fir trees, representing the local Thuringian Forest landscape. The denomination "Pf. 10 Pf." is set in large bold Fraktur script at centre, above the date "den 1. Oktober 1920" and the manuscript signature of the Gemeindevorstand.

Reverse description Plain white ground within the same heavy ornamental black letterpress border, with the numeral "10" in each corner. The issuer's name and denomination "Zehn Pfennig" are set in large Fraktur script at top centre, followed by a full paragraph of legal text in smaller Fraktur stating penalties for counterfeiting and the redemption conditions. A serif serial number appears below the legal text.
