| 备注 |
Schleswig in 1920 was in political limbo. The Schleswig Plebiscites of February and March that year were deciding whether the duchy would remain German or transfer to Denmark — Zone 1 voted Danish, Zone 2 voted German, and the city of Schleswig itself fell in Zone 2, staying within Germany. This note was issued directly into that uncertainty, a municipal stopgap during the nationwide Kleingeldmangel that plagued Germany's postwar economy when small-denomination coins had all but vanished from circulation.
The 35 × 35 mm square format is atypical even among Notgeld — most municipal issues defaulted to rectangular cuts, and the equal dimensions here suggest a deliberate local printing decision rather than a contracted job.
