Opmerkingen

Blumenthal was an independent industrial municipality on the Weser, north of Bremen, built largely around the Norddeutsche Wollkämmerei und Kammgarnspinnerei — one of the largest wool-combing operations in Europe at the time. The 1920 date places this squarely in the Kleingeldnotzeit, when a nationwide coin shortage forced thousands of German municipalities and private entities to print their own small-denomination Notgeld to keep local commerce moving. Herm. Seubert was a local printer, not a specialist currency house, which is typical of this wave of hyperlocal emergency issues.

Blumenthal was absorbed into Bremen in 1939.
