Guhrau — today's Góra in southwestern Poland — issued this note through its district committee during the acute small-change shortage that gripped Germany in the immediate postwar years. The Kleingeldersatz emergency was driven by coin hoarding and metal scarcity; municipalities, cooperatives, and private firms all printed their own fractional paper to keep local commerce moving.

Flemming & Wiskott in Glogau were among the more prolific regional printers of Notgeld, handling dozens of Silesian district issues during this period. The Grabow and Veiel catalog references suggest at least one color or paper variant exists within this type — the ".1a" suffix typically distinguishes the earliest or most common subtype.
