Liegnitz was one of the more prolific Notgeld issuers in Lower Silesia, and having its own geographic printing house — Paul Baron's Institut — handle production locally was common for the region's municipal emergency currency in 1920. The hyperinflationary spiral had not yet peaked, but coin hoarding was already severe enough that towns of Liegnitz's size needed fractional paper to keep daily commerce moving.
Printed in-house by a firm whose primary business was maps and geographic materials, not banknote security printing. The technical limitations that implies are worth keeping in mind when assessing print registration on any example.
