正面描述 Dark olive-green letterpress Notgeld on paper with a light guilloche underprint repeating 'STADTGEMEINDE MARKNEUKIRCHEN' across the entire field. A bold rectangular banner at top carries the issuer inscription 'STADT MARKNEUKIRCHEN', flanked at left by the city's heraldic lion rampant vignette within a shield, below which the numeral '10' appears in a dark corner box. The denomination 'GUTSCHEIN ÜBER 10 PFENNIG' is set in large type at centre, with validity clause, a manuscript signature of the Bürgermeister, an anti-counterfeiting warning, and a red serial number at lower centre.

备注

Markneukirchen, tucked into the Vogtland region of Saxony near the Czech border, was by 1919 already centuries deep into instrument manufacture — violins, brass, and woodwinds had defined the town's economy since the 17th century. This Notgeld note was issued during the acute coin shortage that followed Germany's defeat, when municipalities across the country were forced to print their own small-denomination scrip to keep local commerce moving.

Carl Schleicher & Schüll of Düren, a firm better known for filter and specialty papers, also took on Notgeld printing contracts during this period — their guilloche underprint work here is competent but unremarkable for the series.
