| Obverse description | At centre, the municipal coat of arms of Eschwege — a heraldic shield bearing a twin-towered city gate with an arched portal and a foliate sprig rising between the towers, surmounted by a crested tournament helmet with purple acanthus mantling — serves as the principal vignette, printed in purple letterpress. The bold Gothic blackletter numeral '10' is repeated at upper left and upper right, with the issuer inscription 'Stadt Eschwege' and value legend 'Zehn Pfennig' set in decorative blackletter below the arms. At lower centre, an oval cartouche wreathed in thorned branches bears a two-line blackletter motto.
