Obverse description At centre, the municipal coat of arms of Eschwege — a heraldic shield bearing a twin-towered city gate with an arched portal and a foliate sprig rising between the towers, surmounted by a crested tournament helmet with purple acanthus mantling — serves as the principal vignette, printed in purple letterpress. The bold Gothic blackletter numeral '10' is repeated at upper left and upper right, with the issuer inscription 'Stadt Eschwege' and value legend 'Zehn Pfennig' set in decorative blackletter below the arms. The date '1919' appears in purple at lower right of the vignette, beneath which 'Der Magistrat' is followed by two manuscript facsimile signatures, with the printer's imprint 'Lith. u. Druck P. Israel, Wanfried a/W' along the lower margin.

Reverse description The reverse carries a letterpress vignette of a medieval stone tower — a landmark of Eschwege — framed within a pointed Gothic arch rendered in purple, with ornamental triskelion rosettes at each corner of the border; the tower's conical tiled spire and flanking turrets rise against a cloudy sky, with rooftops of half-timbered buildings visible to either side. At lower centre, an oval cartouche wreathed in thorned branches bears a two-line blackletter motto. The denomination legend 'Zehn Pfennig' is repeated in bold blackletter at lower left and lower right.
