Obverse description Salmon-pink note with an overall fine guilloche underprint pattern. The denomination numeral '10' appears at upper left and upper right flanking the central text 'Gutschein über Zehn Pfennig' in decorative Gothic script, with a faint city arms vignette in the centre. Below, the issuing authority inscription and date 'Merseburg, 1. Juli 1918' are printed at lower left, with 'Der Magistrat' and two facsimile signatures at lower right; the validity clause 'Gültig bis 31. Dezember 1919' and serial number appear along the top margin.

Reverse description The reverse is printed in salmon-pink on a dense guilloche underprint covering the entire surface. At centre, a heraldic shield bearing the Merseburg city arms — a gothic cathedral façade — is set within an elaborate symmetrical cartouche of scrollwork and floral ornaments. The printer's imprint 'Gebr. Parcus München' appears in small lettering along the lower edge.
