备注	Limburg an der Lahn issued this Notgeld piece in 1918, deep into the wartime coin shortage that had stripped everyday copper and nickel from circulation across Germany. Municipal authorities across the Reich were left to improvise their own small-denomination paper — Stadt Limburg was among hundreds of towns that turned to local and regional printers to fill the gap left by a mint system overwhelmed by military demand. C. Naumann's Druckerei in Frankfurt was a competent commercial house but not a specialist security printer, which shows in the relatively modest production values typical of this series. Assmann's design credit suggests at least some intentional graphic effort was made rather than pulling stock layouts off the shelf.
