备注

Stammbach is a small market town in Upper Franconia, Bavaria, and this 10 Pfennig note is a product of the Kleingeldersatz crisis that gripped Germany from 1916 onward — metal coinage had been almost entirely absorbed by the war economy, and hundreds of municipalities were forced to issue their own emergency fractional currency. The Bavarian response to this shortage was notably decentralized, with individual Gemeinden rather than regional authorities taking responsibility.

J. P. Himmer of Augsburg, a well-established commercial printer founded in 1842, handled a significant volume of Bavarian Notgeld commissions during this period. Their output was competent but strictly utilitarian — local government work, not prestige printing.
